I'm right back into a Red Hot Chili Peppers phase. I'm pigging out on Peppers. WARNING: if you aren't into this band, don't bother reading today! If you do like this band... get in here and roll in it!
If you think about it, it all makes perfect sense.
Anthony is the Blood. You might think he's the sex- clearly-- but he's the one that makes it all happen. He's the life force in this band. Without him, it will not exist. He's the juice! Anthony drives it like a heartbeat. He's also a total nutcase in the most delightfully exciting way. He's one hell of a front man.I totally love him (despite my best efforts!)
Chad is the Sugar. Despite him being the backwards hat wearing, stubble chinned, silent drummer, he's the sweetness. He's got the jowly face with the pretty little green eyes. (Like his twin, Will Ferrell.) Chad looks like a mechanic, or a plumber. He's a daddy to three kids. He's the quietest, most camera shy of the four. But if you don't believe me that Chad is the sugar, I suggest you listen with your eyes closed and solo out the drums. Sweet! He's got chops. He lays down the sweet beats, baby. I found a photo of him wearing a John Deere hat. Really that's all I need. I'm kinda shallow that way.
Flea is the Sex. Not only is he a mind boggling player, he's the most naked guy in popular music. Type the word flea into Google Images. The first page is all creepy bugs and a wiry dude wearing nothing but sneakers and a bass guitar.
It ain't a bad sight. And his playing is hot too. I may fall for guitar players, but really, bass is the sexiest instrument.I love him just a little bit more because his shoulders are crooked. We could be twins.
John is the Magik. I love John Frusciante. His playing gets better constantly, he's looking so healthy and angelic these days, in a messed up scrawny slacker kind of way, and his brain fascinates me. I think he might not be from this planet. Here's a quote from the Wikipedia page: Frusciante claims that his music is a gift from spirits that frequently spoke to him. He has said about these spirits, "I was so happy that someone was visiting I’d make food for them. When they were gone, I’d cry." That breaks my heart, it's so beautiful!Believe, I understand weird, but this guy decided a few years back to be a drug addict and went for it with great passion. I don't get it, but I do understand the need to be creative and the struggle to find a way of being that feels right. Drugs or not, his world is different from ours. And yet... it makes a bit of sense to me. I love that quote!
I'm so glad he decided to stay on this planet. There's so much music in him and we get to share it with him.
Four talented guys, four essential elements.
And why does a nice girl like me love a bunch of bad boys like them? Hey. Even farm girls can get funky.
