Get ready for my Hick Chic Christmas-Holiday-End-Of-The-World Blog Party!!!

Friday December 21st, 2012.

Right here.

You've got a few days to whip up some imaginary party snacks. You won't need a few days though because all you have to do is think, "I'd like to bring some of those bits and bites things to Heidi's pretend party" and boom - DONE!

I do love fake parties. I don't have to clean up before. Or after.   Doesn't cost anything. Nobody has to drive in bad weather to get here. You can be goofy and tipsy in the comments section without jeopardizing your actual work!

So bring your virtual refreshments, memorize the words to "you're a mean one, Mr Grinch" and get ready to pretend-party!!

Got a few bonuses planned this year.

I've got an actual photographer working for me this year. So take that, House Country Beautiful Home Magazine!!! And, there will be some special guests!  (No, not Johnny Depp. He's busy looking for Christmas themed pirate-y things to hang around his neck and sends his best wishes, I'm sure).

Also it's supposedly the end of the world, since the ancient Mayans got bored and decided to go plant something or start a war or something. Or - like this. "Guys I have to quit working on the calendar or my mom won't let go to the next public sacrifice...."
"Yeah my dad told me I have to move the llamas and the next two millennia on the calendar will have to wait ..."

But the last three times the world was supposed to end were very anticlimactic so I say we do it up right. And by that I mean, check in between lunh and barn cleaning and school bus driving or whatever you do for real, while a whole other alternative universe is unfolding at my partaaayyyyy!!!!

Dangit Heidi! I'm off on Friday and have no computer access until Jan 3. I'll miss the party!!! waahhhhh.

I love your blog parties, especially an end-of-the-world party! Maybe I can drop off some of our homemade fruitcake and cranberry sauce for you all to enjoy.

I just love your blog parties, have I said that already?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours, and to all of the blog buddies partying here on Friday!

I've never been to a blog party, but I think I'll bring adult beverages, chips and guacamole. What should I wear?

Heidi Willis there will be blognog with your name on it!!!

Jules - you'll be there at the virtual party in spirit. So like, you're kind of not really there at all while having a presence there. Magical eh! Have a wonderful Christmas!!

Redhorse - yes, bring that, and wear whatever you want. I shall be wearing my formal coveralls and my dress barn boots. Haha. No actually I will wear my special occasion yoga pants, tuxedo shirt, John Deere hoodie and red boots with 5" heels. I'm kidding. I don't own a tuxedo shirt!!! So basically, whatever makes you happy!

The world will not end until the warranty on my car runs out. So we got two more years left. But the day after...

Still just in case the Mayans are right, I have a couple of days to finish my next book, Dark Fires. That leaves you just one day to read it. Got to get it done even if I have to miss your blog party. You know how I would hate to do that.

Paul - you might have to read an excerpt. Let's see if we can get somebody to set it to music!

Mugwump - it'll taste awesome, I know it!

Phyllis - you will look marvellous!

Holy crap I think I broke the computer

Or maybe I broke the Internet.

Pretty sure the universe is still intact.
