As Mad as a Hatter

...which, luckily, I am...

(sometimes it doesn't matter how bad things are, you need to cough up the $30 to take your kids to a movie.  If you stare at that picture long enough, his eyes look like they're going in two different directions.  Haven't we all felt that way???)

I keep hearing that Burton's Alice is actually a sequel than a remake. I'm not sure why he decided to do this one live-action. The world of Alice would better suit his stop-motion talents, I think.

I'm going! And taking my DH along for the ride! I just can't wait!

There was a show on SciFi a while back where "Alice" went back to set things right and it was set in the far future, so I'm used to strange.

Lavender: it's not the original Alice where she falls thru the rabbit hole the first time. It's the Alice where the Red Queen has taken over and ruined Wonderland and Alice goes back to correct things. I'm not sure the difference in the two, but do know that there are two different Alice's.

There were two books, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and Through the Looking Glass. I'm not sure which one Burton made his movie of though.

I have returned!

You know what, just go see it. We saw it in 2D at our local small family run theatre and even in 2D it's absolutely gorgeous.

As for the story, I think it's a combination of the two books plus The Jabberwocky, which I haven't read. I read the first two a loooong time ago. A lot of the images stuck with me! But those books are a hard read.

You know what, I"m going to have to write a review on this.

After the Oscars.

Anyways, I really enjoyed the movie and Annyong has placed it in her Top Two Of All Time.

I thought of you when my Entertainment Weekly came last Friday. It had FIVE covers... all Johnny Depp in various roles. This one was the top cover.

I'm not an Alice fan, remake or sequel. But my kids really want to go, as does my husband, so we'll probably end up going at some point.

I'd wait to hear how you like it, but I suspect you'll be a bit biased. :)

Hey! Hey!

Where is the recap of the Awards, so that I might find out what I ought to think?

Hurry! I can't hold my breath for long.

Somehow I knew Johnny would be just like that when I clicked on your blog just now.

I haven't commented in a while....how are things with you?

Took Bug to see it this weekend and LOVED it! It was beyond anything I could have expected, and is, now, my fave Tim Burton movie.
