Treehouse

Five platforms, a rope swing (raises up into storage in tree, for horse's safety), a back rest, easy access to pet horses, steps into lower branches, stunning views of hay field and pasture, ATV accessible, helmet/ hat/ hoodie jacket hooks.

Hours of fun and entertainment, reading and chilling.  Many thumbs were banged in the ongoing construction of this tree house.

Lumber supplied by Papa's junkyard.

(Funsucker Mom is prohibiting an extension cord from the barn.)

I always wanted a tree house. hmmm...

It seems that I still do want a tree house!

I am not a duck. Dork maybe but not a duck.

The treehouse is not for sale. Don't worry. It's staying right where it is.

What arsenal?????

Should I be concerned about this?

Tribble he shouldn't be chucking hammers because A) it's violent and I'd like him to not act like that, and B) because he used my hammer, and if I go into the barn and it's not there, I will do some 50 acre yelling until it's back where it belongs.

Problem solved?

Cindy Dianne, you should build a tree house. I'm serious. I was up there on the weekend and not only is it shady, and has a great view, but it's so private. It's a different world! Now I totally get it. That's why the kids disappear and all I can hear is voices in the tree. It's the best hang spot ever!

Alls ya need is scrap lumber and a hammer and some nails!

And a tree. You have to have the right tree. I could build one at the cabin though. Might have to do that....

It looks like a pretty darn good looking treehouse.

The right tree is ultimately important. This one's a Manitoba maple- basically a giant weed. It grew in a nice shape, perfect for holding up a few old wooden pallets.

We don't have a good treehouse tree at our house at all though. AT the farm they're out there all hours of the day.

I agree about chucking hammers - er, NOT chucking hammers.
Treehouses rock. I wish that I could a: find my old one
b: fit in it.

I would love a tree house, but alas no garden, not even a blade of grass :(

"Photos by the Girl"

Does that mean you didn't climb up there and snap the pic yourself, Heidi?

Looks like a very cool place to get away from annoying parents. So ... why did they have to build one?

Heidi the Hick said...

hee hee hee. More like, get away from annoying chores like "Do Grandma's laundry for her!"

I'm just kidding. They're really good for helping out at the farm. They just don't really like going into the damp low ceilinged cellar to use the washing machine.

(Why do that when you can be in a tree?)

Katy- not even a blade of grass? How about a geranium in a pot? A hanging basket of impatiens? You need something green, don't you?

Biddie- you actually could fit in this one! It's got steps to get up in the tree and all! I kept thinking last time I was there that you haven't been out to the farm this summer and how I'd get you there with no car.

We need a teleporter. I'll get Bucky to work on it in his treehouse.
