Juno Welcome Reception, and a tour of the Cantos Music Foundation Museum

Man, I only get to do this once a year, and that is a heck of a lot more often than I ever in my life thought I would get to do this.

I wore a plaid flannel shirt to the fancy Juno Welcome Reception!! "Casual Elegant?"  Ooookay!  Here I am, sashaying down the corridor of a nice hotel.  Yup, I did my best sashay, the best I could having never had any formal sashay lessons.  That wasn't part of my book learnin'.  Haha.

I like this picture because it looks like I have long legs, and I don't really have long legs at all.  I don't care if it's blurry!

Remember I said I planned to wear my plaid shirt tied at the front like Daisy Duke?  I tolja.  Here's the proof!  Kind of a funny angle but I didn't have "angles" lessons either in my youth!

Party pictures.  It was too loud to mingle.  Nice venue, but too loud, and because this is a business trip, we're here to schmooze.  Or in my case, talk about my kids to anybody who will listen!

Look, here's us!  Jethro is the most reliable dude on earth.  You can always count on him for the same honest smile.  Me?  Whoooooo teeth time!

(You know, it's getting increasingly easy to show our faces on the intermittent net.  I hardly care anymore.  Here we are!  We don't get recognized in airports so it's all good...!)

We got a very special tour of a very special place, because we know people  and we've got an IN.
This place is incredible.  Pianos, keyboards, harpsichords, from all over and all different eras.

A guy who goes by the name of Elton John used to own this little white piano!

Oh look, it's a recording engineer's living room!  Kidding.  Our speakers are tiny in real life.  But this was fun!

Now I must go- holy smokes, the cocktail hour (schmooz) before the big BLACK TIE DINNER starts in half an hour and my hair is still wet!  It'll take me at least that long to get into my dress and wrangle my hair into some kind of bizarre Helena Bonham Carter configuration!

Catch ya later!

ps I haven't popped a little anti-depressant since Wednesday evening and I feel GREAT!  This is the best I've felt in months.  I slept for ten hours last night.  Ah feel goooood!  (And no, I haven't been drinking!)

ooohhh Honey! I can see that sashay from here! Obviously you don't need sashay lessons!

Have lots of fun.

(but I am not sure you should have stopped taking your anti-depressants)

Sounds like so much FUN!!! Those pianos pictures are all SO COOL! I am a piano player, you know... :)

I have to agree with Cindy about the meds... hope you know what you're doing - I worry about you, you know... :)

Lots of vicarious enjoyment going on here. I may even watch the Junos!

Isn't it fun to party vicariously? I'm having fun looking at the pictures and I was there!

I promise I'll go back on the meds. I avoided the pills because of the icky stomach I get from them. I'm so bad on planes, I couldn't imagine feeling that way on top of it. The thing is, I've felt icky like that for about three months, and now I feel so good.

But I know I have to start taking them again. Doctor's orders and all that.

Okay, yeah I admit, I feel good but my feet are complaining just a little bit about those high heeled boots!

Off for brunch, but I'll post some Big Fancy Gala Dinner Photos sometime soon. Then I have to get ready for the Big Rock N Roll Red Carpet Thing.

I got married at this magnificent place. We started off with the most perfect Clam Chowder for dinner and we also had their amazing signature Salad (candied walnuts, Gorgonzola and craisins).
