So, you know that show on TV, the only one I bother to watch, where people voluntarily humiliate themselves for a huge audience? You know the one. "THIS...is A-MAAAAR-ican IDOL!"
Kristy Lee Cook, the cute lil cowgirl, got sent home last night. Last year she sold her good barrel horse to get the funds to audition. She's a decent singer -- definitely not the best, but heck, a lot better than the rest of us car-singers. (Oh admit it. You sing in the car too! I know you do!)
Or the dress & cowboy boots routine, which I've been known to do, most famously on my wedding day.
I like the concept, but I wasn't crazy about the dress itself. I'm not sure what it's trying to prove here.
I was really quite troubled by this outfit though...
What the heck is that made of? Pleather? Ugh. Imitation velvet? That weird stuff hanging in your elderly neighbour's windows? It just looks all plasticky and smothering. I hate synthetic fabrics so much. All I can think of when I look at that grey top is... how bad it's gonna smell after my pits have been sweating into it for a couple of hours. Yeeeeesh.
So our little cowgirl is done. Will I miss her? Probably not. She's very cute and pretty and wholesome, but I think that may have been the problem. Is there room in this weird music biz for one more pretty blonde country singer???

She’s purdy as all get-out, but she did struggle with her music selections. Looks can only get you so far, but in a dog-eat-dog world of entertainment, you had better have some talent or know some juicy gossip on an exec or something.
You know, I sing in the car, at home, in the grocery store aisles, with my friends....everywhere. My friend wants me to sing with her husband's band....that's where I draw the line. Onstage? No frickin' way. Look at me like a lunatic in Frozen Foods(makes you keep your distance, after all), but don't stare at me on a stage...ew.
I haven't watched one of AI episode...this season or any.
I have no idea who you are talking about, really, cuz I don't watch that show either. She is mighty cute and I am partial to the name Kristy.
I try not sing out loud. People throw things.
Yeah, car-singer here.
I am throwing my two cents in for David Cook to take the whole AI pot... Didja' hear his rendition of Billy Jean a few weeks back?
p.s. I know I'm late, but welcome home! I've been in the tropics, myself...
I don't watch the show either, but I agree with you about that material... looks like something NASA developed!
With Dilling and Biddie, sorry...
I like what she was wearing the night she got eliminated... Some white top draped really nicely (I learned that term from Project Runway) and jeans.
She wasn't my fav, either... but I actually liked that bizarre blue-grass Eight Days a Week she did. At least it was interesting and unexpected...
That last picture makes her look like she would rather be shoveling horse pucky than wear that dress.
And I totally agree with the Wrangler assessment Heidi. It would totally suit her. :0)
hahaha Lady B! It's true!
I admit, I thought her bluegrass "8 days a Week" could have worked. It was just too unrelenting and frantic. She needs a good arranger to help her produce her songs, that's what I say.
You know, once I started going through pictures I realized how often the girl picks out nasty synthetic sparkly fabrics. Not good. She needs to be wearing natural stuff to go with her peachy skin!!!
