My Mother Cracks Me Up...

My parents are in the middle of a bathroom renovation that they've been planning for about twenty years. They've cultivated a real easy going laid back pace out there. Because they're handy and have excellent taste, and also they're on the very-tight-budget, they are doing much of the work themselves. I suspect a lot of it has to do with the old thing about fixing your own darn tractor/ truck/ toilet because that's just what you do!!

Anywaaaaays...I don't like hearing the words bathroom and renovation together but last weekend when I got there, curiosity won me over and I had to go check out the progress. It's a bigger room now with a closet gone, and there's panelling on a couple of walls. This is what I saw when I looked in:

Okay, panelling's on, light fixtures are cut in, ready to be installed. Sink is hanging off the wall but not connected. I guess we're still washing our hands and brushing our teeth in the kitchen this weekend. But what's this? There appears to be a note taped above the sink.

What's that note all about?

Let's take a few steps and read the note...

I laughed for about seven minutes straight.

When she got home from work later on, she informed me that she actually got the lyrics somewhat wrong, and it should be a KING SIZED bathtub. Then I laughed for another four minutes about Chad Krueger's king sized belt buckle collection, which, I'm sorry, I don't care who you are, you gotta be impressed by!

It's my mom's birthday coming up, so leave her a comment today! I'll call her tonight and tell her to fire up the dial up and read your wishes, okay? And *@&%@#@* BE POLITE because my mother is a LADY so don't say none of your &#$$%, alright???

Happy Birthday, Heidi's mom! If you were a mare I'd say you were a darn good producer. But you're not, so I won't. I hope your day involves much cake and many presents...and, of course, a massive bathtub.

Sally...I pinched your name from someone else's comment and hope you don't mind me taking the liberty of calling you by your first name when we haven't even met, but after reading your bathroom note, I recognize you as a woman after my own heart. Have a delightful new birth year, filled to the brim with joy, love and laughter.
