So my pal Zedlie from up the street called tonight and got Jethro on the phone as I was yelling my kids into bed. (Yes, Jethro was home at bedtime!)
She told him that Heidi needs to pick up the current Rolling Stone magazine.
And then, being her awesome self, informs him "I think I'm starting to get it, this whole Johnny thing. Yeah I'm starting to figure it out. I'm thinking it might be over between Johnny and Heidi, because I think Johnny's gonna be into me from now on!"
Ok those of you who don't get it...come back on Monday. No wait, Tuesday would be better.
Those of you who get it, stick around for a minute ok? I'm up past my bedtime and kind of delirious with fatigue so bear with me here...
LOOK AT THAT COVER PHOTO.
Here, let me just show it to you again...
Isn't Johnny beautiful? Seriously. I mean, other than that he looks almost exactly like Jethro. (snicker snicker)
Who else can wear a facial expression that somehow mixes confident, sneaky, and serene at the same time? I swear he gets better with age, and it's not just looks, it's...like, experience and living and...did I mention that I'm really tired and I should go to bed and get some sleep?
For real, this is the kind of guy you could imagine sitting at a table with drawing cartoons.
Ok so Heidi thinks Johnny Depp is really great, blah blah blah. Now we must shift our attention to his buddy there. KEEF.
Keef and my dad are the same age. Yep, born on the exact same day. Every time I think of this co-incidence I am reminded how good lookin my ol man is and how a life spent working outside or in a barn or in a garage is really much healthier in the long run that a life of...being KEEF.
Seriously. One more look.
Incredible.
People, LOOK AT HIS EYES. They are going in DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS. He looks totally bats**t CRAZY.
Of course he does...he's KEEF RICHARDS.
The man is an icon. I admit I was all the way Zeppelin rather than Stones BUT STILL when you look up ROCK STAR in the dictionary, you see his scary face. At least you do in my dictionary. Look at him, he looks like he's been sandblasted. Incredible. Like, if that face could talk...what stories it would tell!
Keef is like a treasure. He's a living legend. Well, actually, I'm not sure about the living part...didn't he die once? Or twice?
And the hands. Holy. Look at 'em. All gnarled and veiny. Fascinating.
I'm not kidding people, those eyes of his are totally gee-haw. Even my pug has straighter eyes! He's amazing and I can hardly tear my eyes away.
Anyways. I'm tired, the kids and dog are in bed, Jethro's out for some quick listen to the thing at the studio place with some thing that he has to listen to and I'm throwing a big movie watching birthday party on Sunday...
(I might have to bring Zedlie.)
I didn't write about writing this week and I didn't write about riding this week but....
I was kinda distracted.

I LOVE Keef's hands. And Johnny. Sigh...
I agree Marni!!!
Keef has some livin on him, that's for sure! I have a belief that a man should have hands that show some wear and tear. When Jethro was a teenager his hands were all wrecked from working on cars and strong from playing guitar. Just one more reason I fell for him!! He doesn't work on cars anymore but he's still got big strong hands.
And Johnny. Well...Just...ahhhhhhh....
The Teenager watched a midnight showing of POTC (Typing POTC reminded me of POTUS which is some crazy acronoyn for President of the United States that I read about in a Tom Clancy book or something. I am still groggy from a horrible nightmare about KB breaking up with me) and got home aroun 3:15 AM! Come to think of it, I can't believe I let him do that!
wow, Cindy, you and I are both all sleep deprived and messed up!
I'm taking, like, eight 13 year old girls to see it. Just one more piece of evidence that I am not right in the haid.
Hmmm..a man's well worn hands...Have you seen Shawns? That's all I'm saying...
I am going to try to take KK to see POTC this weekend. I can't make any promises. That kid has been waiting a year for this..Is another week so much to ask, or would that be torture?
keef scares me. Thank goodness I have Shawn with his well worn strong hands to keep away the Keef dreams..
those eyes on that man are so scary!!! and hands well if you saw my old mans hands any hands would be an improvement beleive me!!!!
Oh, yeah. The eyes. Scary bat sh*@t.
Can you imagine being in that head behind those eyes?
Amethyst-- Wow! "Can you imagine being in that head behind those eyes?"
Just...wow!
I mean, you wouldn't believe what goes on inside my head behind my eyes...but his...oh my...
Biddie, yeah I've seen Shawn's hands, and they are AMAZING!
I hope you can take the kid. I really do. My kid is giving up a trunkful of birthday presents to see it. She asked her friends to spend the money on a ticket to see it with her instead of buying her a gift.
Did I mention she's turning 13 and is in love with Orlando?
Indoors- scary eh? I'm gonna have to go look again just to make sure.
Yep. Still scary.
Yeah...me too.
Usually I am not as much of a Johnny Depp fan as I am, Capt Jack Sparrow fan. Weird, I know, but true.
However, I too, was captivated while looking at that picture. I think I can safely say that it is like you are looking into the eyes of real, wild and untamed, sex appeal.
I can't believe that I won't be seeing the movie for probably another week.....
Mr. Forest might be in luck again tonight..... ahem.....
Karen, not weird at all. There's a whole club of people who love Capt Jack and aren't total Depp fans.
I adore that Johnny- it was Edward Scissorhands that started it!- and I think he could read the phone book and I'd dig it.
And about the eyes...Yes. I know what you mean.
I get that every time I look in the mirror.
BWA HA HA HA HA!
(Go Mr. Forest! Whoooo!)
i totally get the johnny thing.
and he really HAS gotten better with age. i didn't think he was all that interesting waaaay back when.
now? YOW.
Heidi...I imagine you have seen the latest release already?
"if that face could talk...what stories it would tell!"
...big snot rocket laugh...
It's a shame that the BEST LOOKING thing about a person is a narley hand.
Heidi, stop by and check out my medican cabnet for women. You might won't to get some. Pills, that is.
Heidi...do I dare call you Ms. Heidi Depp? :))
OK I must admit this post was extraordinarily fun to read. Heidi I just had to let you know I got to hang out with fjord horses today!
I knew you would appreciated it and if anything could distract a person from JD horses could!
Terry- yeah. the 21 jump street thing did nothing for me and I've never seen it.
LeRoy- haven't seen it yet but I'm taking a herd of 13 year olds on Sunday. CRRRRAZEEEE!
as for the name, Maybe in a bizarre parallel universe, but in this particular bizarre universe you can call me Mrs. Jethro Hick and hopefully someday Mrs. Got To Shake Mr. Depp's Hand???? Mrs. Forgot How To Speak?????
Cara....I was hoping somebody would get that, and I am SO HAPPY that it was you!!!
coffeypot- tee hee! Sometimes good looks isn't so much about beauty as it is about interesting...ya gotta admit those are quite the claws on that guy!
Pat- FJORD HORSES! yay! I love them. I want one some day! You're right- horses are one of the few things that can distract me from my distractions!
I am just tickled that you had fun reading this!!!
Sure made MY day, looking at that cover over and over! Thank you...
Barb of green wellies
"Hey Keef, look over here!... No, over here!" Ahhhhh what's the use... Kinda reminds me of our little puggy friend, eh? Wrinkly and wall-eyed.
Well... Here goes nothing. A party of 12 or 13 Johnny/Orlando/Pirate-obsessed almost-teenagers, grown women, and then there's me and my boy. Massively outnumbered. We'll have no chance but to agree with all the 'Best Scene' choices!
Hell, at least me and Mr. Forest win...
Take heart Jethro, I went to see the new pirates movie with a gaggle of women and girls myself.
You know I'd look exactly like Johnny Depp if I shaved this bushy goatee, chopped off eight or nine inched of my legs, lost a hundred pounds, and ... well okay I don't look a damn thing like him.
