September Stud of the Month: Maximum Ice

MAXIMUM ICE
1989 Red Dun Roan Appaloosa, 15.3 hh

(This one's for you, CindyDianne!

He's very striking. He seems to have that little spark that I love in a horse.

You can see his family at New Dawn Appaloosas.

Maybe my next Mr. Right (or Mr Thinks He's Perfect) will be an Appaloosa. He'd look good with our little varnish roan mare.

I'm waiting for my heart to mend a little more before I go looking though. I'm thinking, and casually looking at ads, but not out searching yet. In time.....

He really is nice looking, isn't he? And, he looks like he has some attitude.

This is almost as good as the naked pic over at Biddie's place from yesterday...almost!

Thanks for dedicating this handsome stud to me!

~sigh~

Appies are so beautiful. You really bring me closer to loving horses once again, Heidi... and Cindy and Kari too. If it wasn't for my a-hole horse Buster when I was little, I would have led a much different life, I'm certain.

Thank you!

He is beautiful! I think the ladies would swoon over him!

I guess your hesitation is like mine. I have not yet taken the step of getting another dog since I had to have my old black labrador, Betsy, put to sleep. People ask "Are you going to replace Betsy?", but it's a dumb question: you can never REPLACE. All you can do is, one day, get another dog or horse - if that's what you really want. I am still undecided...

Biddie- I actually had a crazy idea for two weeks that I was going to have a llama farm, and all llamas would be named after movie stars. I would definitely have a llama named Keanu!

Smarty- WOW! What a buzz to see a colt that stunning. It's not just what you're looking at right there, it's the potential. Thanks for sending that video!

redneck nerdboy! You're welcome! I wonder about ol Buster. I wonder if he was born evil or made evil. From my experience most horses are made evil- I might have turned a couple that way myself, sadly. Sounds like you may have been overhorsed as a kid! But you know what, look at the impact that ol monster had on you, for better or for worse!

marni- yeah I think he's swoon worthy.

I'm trying to decide if he lives too far away from me to go visit. He's in Ontario but I'm not sure where exactly.

Jake, I know. I haven't said "Replace Champ" because it is impossible. I have said "Take Champ's place" because the next horse will have to do his job...but we all know there will never be another one of him.

There will be another horse. I don't know where he is but he's out there.

A road trip to see this boy (and the other gorgeous ones out at the farm) might be just what the doctor ordered...
