Things to do in December
This reminds me that it's once again the most wonderful time of year: I am another year older, and to celebrate my birthday I get to go spend $129 CND on my sticker for the front licence plate of my pickup truck. If I was smart and drove a nice efficient car I would spend that for two years instead of one, and maybe feel a little better about giving myself this birthday present. But I think we've spent enough time justifying my truck, so we can move on to the subject of ME GETTING OLDER.
I'm turning 35 in 4 days. I was so cool with turning 30. I figured, hey, I have no grey hair, minimal wrinkling and all caused by smiling, I've got the first husband still, all of my own teeth, most of my brain cells, and my ass is not hanging down to my knees. Yeeaaahh! Let's party! If anything I was disturbed by everyone else's reaction to 30. Hey man, it ain't so bad!
This year I'm not so sure. Reasons?
I still live in town, and I was pretty sure by now I'd be back out in the sticks.
Still haven't got that horse trailer.
Do not yet know what I'm going to do when I grow up.
Crap. I'm a friggin grown up already.
These damn drugs make my skin creepy.
A year's worth of serious panic attacks tend to create fatigue.
No editors have at this point recognized my literary genius.
But y'know what? I like to write, so I'm going to keep at it and you can't stop me, ahahaha!
And my husband, god bless him, still likes me after falling for me OVER EIGHTEEN YEARS AGO.
And my kids are funny.
And my dog only shat in the house once today.
And I'm heading out to the sticks soon, dragging my whole fam damily with me, to celebrate the blessed birth in the barn by hanging around in a barn. Oh, and also to kick the nasty anti-depressants. I'll be all jeeby and jangly. Yee haw.
so tomorrow I'll go buy myself a new sticker for my plate, and happy friggin birthday to me. Old chick. Old hick chick. hee hee.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the kind words. I read your blog for awhile and really liked your outlook on life. We have a lot in common. You had me laughing out loud! I'll be back. Take care and have a Merry Christmas. By the way, I didn't put up a tree either this year. Love the pink hair!
Oh what a wonderful post. I'm smitten.
I am jealous of your proximity to hicksville...miss it, myself.
I turned 30 this year, and felt exactly the same as you did at 30...I will not be at all surprised to find myself annoyed with 35, either. Hm. I sound like I'm kissing your ass. Do you hear it? it's kind of a loud smacking sound. Ew. Have a happidy hoppidy birthday, and a super groovy baby jesus day (and kick those anti-depressants to the curb, flip 'em off and press onward, mighty woman!)
You guys rock and you can both stay! Ass kissin is better any day than being kicked in the jaw by a pissed off pony, and I know that for a fact! Love& peace and all that!
