Seriously, WHEN will the high school nightmares stop? Last night I was my real self, or at least the distorted dream version, all 38 year's worth of me, throwing lunch into a knapsack while the bus rumbles down the road to my lane way.
I am now going to console myself with a nice Johnny picture.
My kids were going to school with me in this nightmare. I'm not sure if that made things better or worse. It was just a whole other level of crazy.
This is how I can tell it's August... and that maybe I have a few issues left over to deal with.
Oh yeah, and apparently Mars is really close to the earth right now, and with it being the ANGRY PLANET that could explain a few things, right? I don't know.
Am I the only one who has recurring nightmares like this? I can't be. Anybody brave enough to share their brain burrs?

I am so glad to know I'm not the only grown woman who still has high school nightmares! Usually it's not being able to remember my locker combination or it's showing up at one school only to find out I'm supposed to be somewhere else. (I went to three different high schools, so that probably explains that.) I swear, I think when I have them I actually wake up with a pimple!
And I'm really really glad that I can always count on you to provide some consolation in the form of Mr. Depp. mmmmm
You know, I really loved highschool, for the most part, but I do have crazy ass nightmares about walking the halls at WO.
A LOT.
The most recent, just about two nights ago, I was wearing a shirt, but no underwear and NO PANTS. This seems to be a recurring theme in my whacked out mind. No pants, lots of lockers and oh, that superincrediblebeautiful boy/man that was Brain Kab.....
I can never remember my locker combo, I am constanly pantless, and I usually miss my bus, focring me to wait for the 5:30 bus or walk that long walk home.
Why??
I can't recall having dreams about high school, tornado's are my nightmarish visions.
Hi Alice, thanks for sharing; I can never get the locker combo right either!!! In my dreams I'm standing there spinning the lock for eternity.
I also have dreams of being absolutely hopelessly lost in the school. I went to two high schools...
which I have in common with YOU, BIDDIE!
And I almost groaned reading your comment, because I've had dreams where all day I'm trying to yank my long shirt down around my knees so nobody notices.
Because my memory is faulty, I'm going to call you tomorrow so you can remind me who Brain Kab was. There were so many of them. That was the highlight of those years, eh?
Hi Urban Cowboy! You escaped the high school dreams, only to be stalked in your sleep by tornadoes.
We need some fun dreams around here. What about a tornado picking up your school so you have to stay home?
Heidi - I can always count on you to make me feel more normal!
Recurrent high school nightmares: a regular visitor! The locker combo I can't remember...I'm actually surprised others have that too! Are we all that scarred by lockers??
My most common nightmare is coming out of my school to the lines and lines of buses and not knowing which one is mine. I stand in the middle trying to remember the bus number and all of them drive off without me.
It must be a fear of numbers... locker combos, bus numbers...
I must be an english major...
Okay-- I am 45 and only last week had the recurring nightmare of mine where it's the last day of school and I've skipped so much i don't know math AT ALL, and therefore won't graduate. also my bus is leaving and I can only run in slow motion.
If anyone doubt the evilness of math-- well, there you have it.
I have school dreams ALL the time -- but that's because, as a teacher, I never really leave.
I am amused at how my brain will mix my own school years with teaching years willy-nilly. I sometimes find myself sharing a high school classroom with kids I've taught!
