My 12 year old son put up the Christmas tree.

By himself.

Without being asked.

Took the big plastic trunk outta the laundry room and put the ancient little plastic tree together.

He put all the branches at the front, so that it would look... fluffier... healthier... and nobody's going to see the back of it since it's in the corner.

Then he put all the decorations on it.

It looks really good.

Then he took a shower.  And brushed his teeth.

I could not thank him enough.  I might even thank him a little bit more at breakfast in the morning.

I am waiting for someone to put my tree up.
So far, there have been no takers.
Isn't it great when they do things without even being asked???

I'm still trying to find some way of rearranging the furniture in the FEMA trailer to make room for the tree... :)

I seen a VW rabbit with a 6 foot tree on top of it going down the road yesterday. I LOLed in the car by myself.

A Rabbit with a 6 ft tree on top? Yeah that is LOL worthy!

The kids wanted a real tree this year, but where would we put it... I know our house is bigger than a FEMA trailer but man, I'm just not brave enough to tackle furniture rearranging right now!

Beer, though, I'm sure I could get up the ambition for.

Without being asked.

I can't believe I am saying this, but I still haven't put my tree up yet either. MAN I'm a flake. You think your son might make a quick trip to AZ from CAN and hook me up? LOL

Yeah, he could make it into a very lucrative business, I'm thinking.

while he put the tree up i was reading and every time he asked if i was gonna come help i was like "ok cool, have fun..." its a good thing he didnt get mad at me cuz it got really repetetive and annoying after a while! yes, i was annoying myself, and thats hard to do!!!!!

Hey Hick Chick - LOVED your holiday advice. I'm pretty lucky I get time off over the holidays but by the time I get there I'm too dang tired to make much ado in the festivity realm. Instead I take a winter horse holiday, every day with my horses and horse freinds. Can't wait!

Don't you love it when they do stuff like this that makes you think, "Hey, I must not be doing so bad at this parenting thing after all!"
