YEAH, I CAN TELL YOU'RE JEALOUS OF MY HOT ROD.

That's why you're checkin it out when I roar past.

I know it.

You just jealous.

(Git yer own exhaust leak, man.  Don't be coveting now.)

Damn, why do I get the feeling that fun rumble is going to cost some $$? Oh well, I guess we may as well do the usual drive-it-around-the-burbs-all-noisy-like for the next little while and enjoy the hydrocarbon-belching while we can!

Just like we always do this time of year, darling.

We really should do it up right and stick it on the front lawn up on blocks.

I saw you roar by last night on A. Hts, but you were gone before I had a chance to wave.

Oh yeah, cuz I'm just soooo fayast.

Lynn, I'd say honk at me but these days it's highly unlikely I'd hear it.

(This isn't quite as much fun this time around.)

I don't have problems with my exhaust system, but I have a big ole diesel pick up. It was made in 2001. In 2003, Ford made their diesel engines more quiet for the soccer moms that wanted them in their SUVs. I like my loud one much better. Plus, sometimes I can see the irritation on the snobby ones as they sit in their little BMW convertibles next to me at the lights. Tee hee!

(I have pictures of covered bridges up today)

Cindy, if and when this truck really does breathe its last... I'm getting a diesel. And probably a Ford. That powerstroke diesel is one awesome engine, and those trucks just keep on going!

and the rainy season has begun for real here this week.
good times.

My car is mostly quiet. It does, however, have random horn honks when the weather is really cold. Unfortunately I didn't figure this out until after I fingered the person behind me.... She must have thought I was completely nuts.

Oh Dilling, that is unhappy! It's like driving a wading pool! Got any duct tape? Tarp? If you do, please send a picture.

Olly, that was good for a laugh!

Actually, next to hearing my grandkids laugh and the sound of a jet scramming by at tree top level, the sound of a car (or truck) running strictly off its headers is one of my favorite sounds. You can ride by my house several times a day if you want too.

Heidi the Hick said...

I'm sure my neighbours would prefer me to drive past your house instead of mine!

I agree, I do like that sound. Just on 8 cylinders though... our little ol Dodge Spirit was just embarrassing with no muffler!

I really love you for your humor...

you know that, right?

okay, top off my wine and sit back on my comfy couches and enjoy the view of the sunset over the ocean...

It's so quiet at the beach house... with my truck parked and silent up on the main road...
