"Now I've reached that age, I try to do all those things the best I can..."
I know what it means to be alone...
I sure do wish I was at home...
I don't care what the neighbours say...
I'm gonna love you...
each and every day...
You can feel the beat in my heart...
You and I, sweet baby,
We ain't nevah gonna part...
Thanks to Nicole for reminding me of this momentous occasion! On Monday night when Led Zeppelin played their reunion concert, my son Bucky the nerd was playing a large part in his school Christmas concert. I asked him at bedtime if he's been bitten by the showbiz bug. His answer? "Oh ho ho hoooo YEAH!" He's already got the right hair for it.
Play along blog buddies...put your favourite Zeppelin lyric in the comments section! Throw the virtual horns! You can even tease me about how much I love old fellas. Heck, Robert ain't even 60 yet. Rock like a viking hammer of the gods whoooooooo.....

Old or not old, they still rock like nobody's business...
And Robert Plant is hot, I don't care how old he is!
Great pics!
You love old fellers? Yeah! There's hope for me, yet.
Umm, favourite ZEPPELIN lyric?
I'd rather tease you about your love for the old guys :)
"One more song just before we go.
Remember, baby,
All the things
We used to know.
Please read my letter
And promise you'll keep
The secrets and the memories and
Cherish in the deep..."
Truth is, I find him sexier with some years on him... it's the living that teaches life, and you learn the lessons or you don't... smart is sexy.
FAvorite lyrics? I don't know about favorite... but I always wanted someone to sing these to me...
"Dancing days are here again as the summer evening grows
You are my flower, you are my power
You are my woman who knows."
'Dancin'Days', Houses of the Holy
Seems so long since we walked in the moonlight,
Making vows that just can't work right.
Open your arms, opens your arms,
Open your arms, baby, let my love come running in.
It's been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.
yeharr
NO STAIRWAY!
mwa hahahahaha!
Leaves are falling all around,
It's time I was on my way.
Thanks to you, I'm much obliged
For such a pleasant stay.
But now it's time for me to go,
The autumn moon lights my way.
For now I smell the rain,
And with it pain,
And it's headed my way.
Ah, sometimes I grow so tired,
But I know I've got one thing I got to do,
*Ramble On,
And now's the time, the time is now
To sing my song.
I'm goin' 'round the world,
I got to find my girl, on my way.
I've been this way ten years to the day, Ramble On,
Gotta find the queen of all my dreams.
Got no time to for spreadin' roots,
The time has come to be gone.
And tho' our health we drank a thousand times,
It's time to Ramble On.
* Chorus
I ain't tellin' no lie.
Mine's a tale that can't be told,
My freedom I hold dear;
How years ago in days of old
When magic filled the air,
T'was in the darkest depths of Mordor
I met a girl so fair,
But Gollum, and the evil one crept up
And slipped away with her.
Her, her....yea.
Ain't nothing I can do, no.
Gonna ramble on, sing my song
Gotta keep-a-searchin' for my baby...
Gonna work my way, round the world
I can't stop this feelin' in my heart
Gotta keep searchin' for my baby
I can't find my bluebird!
I'd listen to my bluebird sing but I can't find my blue bird
A-keep-a ramblin' baby...
Isn't' this fun?
KC that was awesome. The Tolkien influenced Zeppelin is a standard by which all epic epics must be judged. Eh?
The only thing as good as a young rock star is an old rock star!
Stairway to where, Heidi? I am not sure that I have ever heard of that song...are you sure that you have the right band? Hmmmnnnnn.
You need coolin', baby, I'm not foolin',
I'm gonna send you back to schoolin',
Way down inside honey, you need it,
I'm gonna give you my love,
I'm gonna give you my love.
Hey! I'm old!!!!
Yeah! I was just thinking of that song!
(Let's hear it for old fellers! I love old fellers!)
I would like to quote Dilling:
"it's the living that teaches life, and you learn the lessons or you don't... smart is sexy."
Sunday morning when we go down to church
See the menfolk standin' in line
I said they come to pray to the Lord
With my little girl, looks so fine
From a compilation called Complete Studio Recordings which I don't own a copy of. I remember losing my mind when I heard this on the radio. I wasn't aware of this band when they were on the radio in the 70s.
OOps, it should go like this:
Sunday morning when we go down to church
See the menfolk standin' in line
They said they come to pray to the Lord
But my little girl, looks so fine
HEY HEY WHAT CAN I DO
(feel free to misquote lyrics all you want here.)
Can we do our LEAST favorite Led Zep lyrics, too?
yeharr
Late to the party AGAIN!
Been dazed & confused for so long its not true.
Wanted a woman, never bargained for you.
Lots of ppl talking, few of them know...Soul of a woman was created below! Yeahhhhh!!!!!
Greetings from Boulder, Colorado!
JJ
aw, shucks....
Least favourite lyrics? Of course!
...ah, I wondered when somebody was going to bust out "Dazed and Confused"!!!!
Hey hey girl the way you walk that way
Watch the honey drip can't keep away.
I'm sorry. I like sex as much as the next person,* but that's a little bit too graphic for my tastes.
yeharr
*that's assuming the next person's a borderline nympho. Otherwise, I like sex more than the next person.
Brilliant.
In college I spent most of an art history class with a buddy writing incredibly lewd lyrics to that song.
Good times.
i would have LOVED to have been at that show...!
"There's an angel on my shoulder, In my hand a sword of gold
Let me wander in your garden. And the seeds of love I'll sow. You knooooow.
So the world is spinning faster. Are you dizzy when you're stoned
Let the music be your master. Will you heed the master's call
Oh... Satan and man."
Find a queen without a king they say plays guitar and cries and sings...lalala.
Excellent! There's so much to choose from and it all makes you feel kinnna trippppy maaaan...
