I've been asked three times in the last couple of weeks to do a "7 Things You Don't Know About Me" meme. I sort of turned them down because I couldn't think of anything else I haven't already shared...that I'm willing to reveal. But then I got to thinkin. My eyes glazed over, my ears started smoking, and I came up with some ideas.
Since I have basic problems with authority and huge problems with decision making, I can't bring myself to follow the rules. I can't tag 7 other people. And I have to put my own twist on this. You understand, right? I gotta be me.
Here we go-- 7 Things You Didn't Know About Me...One Of Which Is Not True. It's up to you to guess which one's the lie.
1) I have a mole on my jaw that sprouts awful little whiskers which I painfully pluck at least once a week. (HA! How do ya like me NOW?)
2) I'm obsessed with pictures of myself. I never believe that it's really me in the picture. I have to stare at it until I'm convinced.
3) I didn't really go through a blonde phase...I had a yellow phase. I bleached it in my kitchen and it turned YELLOW. Yellow, kids. Yellow.
4) I have been a gypsy for Halloween about four times, a cowboy once, and a pirate twice.
5) I've had four broken bones- all horse related injuries.
6) I painted this:
7) And this. I used to do regular self portraits and I think this one is the most accurate representation of my true self. Clarification: the lie in question is whether or not I painted it. No matter who did it, I do fully believe that this is the real me!!! Or at least one of me.
I am full of surprises eh?

The lie has to be the mole.
Because doctors can easily remove moles nowadays.
(Clever. Aren't I?)
; )
Hmmmm, I can't figure out which one is the lie. My first thought was the "four broken bones" one, but then I thought, "Nah. It has to be the last painting, because Heidi would have showed us that before." Hmmm, I don't know....

And that's what happens when you try to stop a "submit comment" in progress in order to correct grammar.
:-p
wow. it's been a while since I've been here. cool stuff in your life! you go, girl!
oh, and #7's the lie.
yeharr
the lie is the broken bones.
I'm pretty sure I remember the mole, but to tell you the truth, I never noticed any whiskers (and I'm almost positive I'd have noticed that, so I must have caught you after a plucking). Maybe I'll go with the broken bones. Although it might be the Halloween costumes--I'll bet you were a cowboy more often than once.
Okay--I'll go with the costume thingee.
I'll go with the costumes. You MUST have been a cowboy and pirate more that that!
Number 7. Just a wild guess, because I haven't been reading you that long.
I'm going with number 3. Blonde or yellow doesn't seem very farm girl to me. :)
I did mention recently that I'm a terrible liar right?
Like as in, not very good at lying???
Hahahaha! I am only going to say that #3 is NOT a lie.
I won't comment on anything else. Yellow is not very farm girl, I guess, but for a little while, it was Heidi.
Ok, now I will be quiet.
my guess on the lie is number..................oh boy its not easy this one is it? er er er going for the broken bones!
Biddie, snicker snicker snort. I had a witness to that one and everything! hahaha!
Okay that one's true!
I think the lie is four broken bones...I think you have really broken more than that....there are a lot of bones in a foot and feet are often injured by horses.
I'm going with number 7 too, I think painting that great would have been shared. I totally beleive the mole....but I won't tell why...
#7 is true!
Here's a link to a post I did last year.

i think that #1 is the lie. i believe you have a mole and that it is hairy, but i cannot imagine you plucking at it once a week. i have seen those eyebrows, missus (in fact, you are my eyebrow hero) do you even own tweezers??
maybe you trim the mole if you are doing something special, like going to the junos. but plucking once a week, das lies m'dear, dirty dirty lies!
I think maybe Mary Ellen is right and you have broken more than 4 bones... Or maybe the lie is the mole... I have no clue...
How is it i didn't know you painted?
Oh Cara, I feel like I'm letting you down because I'm maintaining the 2 eyebrows instead of letting the unibrow grow back! If it's any consolation I'm not doing a meticulous job of it and it's only the bit in between I'm ripping out. And I don't do it very often.
But...I DO own tweezers...
Anita, all I can say is that I sort of left it behind. I always loved drawing and painting and there was a time in my life when I wanted to be an artist. Clearly I have never wanted to be in a profession that makes money...
In my one year of college people said things to me like, "All you wanna do is ride your horse, why are you here?" or "You're a good writer. Maybe you should do that instead."
But I"m thick and it took me years to figure it out. Basically when I had babies I really slowed down with the paintings. LIke, completely. Maybe someday I'll pick it up again. But I have my little masterpieces to look at and remember.
Okay, time's up.
#5 is the lie. I haven't had four broken bones. I think I've had a broken toe once, but it wasn't horse related.
Isn't it weird that I've had over 30 years of goofing off with horses and never had a bone broken? I must not be trying hard enough...
Glad you told us which one was the lie, but I believe the mole thing. I don't have a mole on my chin, but I sure have hairs that I have to pluck - in fact my sister and I have a pack that if we are in the hospital and can't get ride of the wiskers ourselves, the other one will pluck our chins. That's what sisters are for.
The rest seemed believable (love the pictures and they looked similar I figured they we true). If you can dye your hair red, you can surely die it blonde. Ahhh, Halloween and those great costumes. Isn't it fun.
I've only broken one bone, well maybe it was more than one bone but it was my hand. Guess how I did it? I sat on it. Not quite that stupidly, but I was in the 2nd grade, just finished doing a cartwheel, lost my balance and fell on my hand backwards and broke my hand.
Did you see my 7 things? These are a really good way get to know people.
