And once again, I am not who I thought I was...

I AM A BOOK.

That's not weird. What's weird is that I hardly recognize myself. I've never read this book. I think I should. I've thought that for some time now. I must read it. I have to look in the mirror...

You're Ulysses!

by James Joyce

Most people are convinced that you don't make any sense, but compared
to what else you could say, what you're saying now makes tons of sense. What people do
understand about you is your vulgarity, which has convinced people that you are at once
brilliant and repugnant. Meanwhile you are content to wander around aimlessly, taking in
the sights and sounds of the city. What you see is vast, almost limitless, and brings you
additional fame. When no one is looking, you dream of being a Greek folk hero.

Take the Book Quiz
at the Blue Pyramid.

( found this on Kansas Hippy Chic!)

I think it's funny that people understand my vulgarity. I don't swear on this blog. Sometimes when the kids are out of the house or asleep, Me n Jethro swear our faces off and tell dirty jokes. He swears all the time, of course. He says it's because he's on the phone doing business. haha.

And this wandering aimlessly through the city. Okay, wandering aimlessly I totally get. But the city? No, when in the city I tend to wander insecurely and like a small twitchy paranoid mammal.

I don't dream of being a Greek folk hero. I dream of being a cowgirl pirate gypsy rock star.

But that first line is very true. And what I see is vast and limitless.

I'm not shocked...I rarely recognize myself. Every time I see a picture of myself, I have to stare at it for long moments. I hardly ever believe it's me. Maybe if I showed it to one of my other personalities it would make more sense?

Do I ever make sense?

Coming from you, Xtin, that is a comforting relief.

Well, you make perfect sense to me, but I have known you for oh-so long...
I seldom recognize myself. You know when you've been drinking, and you're REALLY drunk, and you catch yourself in the mirror?
I feel like that most days...Like..Is that REALLY me? Wow. When did THAT happen? Do I really look like that? Some days I feel different than I look, better, worse, but different just the same.
Anyway, you are mostly brilliant, not so much vulgar.

Hey Biddie, you should never look in the mirror when drunk!

But I know what you mean. I'm still trying to figure out when exactly my skull shrank and left me with all this extra skin.

You are brilliant AND vulgar!

LOL. Thank you!

I think......

Makes sense to me.

Of course, I've read the book.

Which is to say I've looked at the words in the book, one after the other, from beginning to end.

Joyce was at home in the city. It seeped into his pores, fermented in his twisted soul, and then he pissed it out in volumes onto his meduim, which was paper.

You are at home in the country. It has seeped into your pores, and ferments inside of you. You wander through it in your writing. Not just here, but from what I know of your book, it has seeped out there as well. I see this do you? Same thing happening here. Everything else is just geography.

And there were no cowgirl pirate gypsy rock stars back in Homer's days, or he would have written about them, Carmelita.

Yup, you're Ulysses, allrighty.

are you what you are, or what?

Dilling, what I am is shooting rubber bands at the stars.

Pirate- I am that instead of a veterinarian princess ballerina. (My daughter is a veterinarian princess plumber ballerina.)

Indoors- I am glad to hear that I said something meaningful, since I often stick my foot down my throat!

Like I told Biddie, of all the books out there, mine came back as a history book. I wouldn't have been suspired if it came back as a porn book, but I guess the history book is more apropos.

I think you make perfect sense... And I like the quiz, by the way... I was "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland", for some odd reason...

And I am "Anne of Green Gables"...and if that makes any sense then everything must. Love the pictures of the lake and your hat!

You make a lot of sense to me too. There are very few people I can say that about Heidi. ;)

Heidi the Hick said...

Clearly, I make sense to all the right people.

Based on all your pictures of horses Heidi, you have lots of "horse sense" and you know what they say about that - its just "stable" thinking!
