I usually take the manure out first thing in the morning but I only got there at 5pm...and Dad saved that job for me.
The Boy took most of the photos this time. He was busy being chased by his broom wielding sister and forgot to take pictures of the grain and hay and water bucket process. We do actually feed the horses when we put them in!!
Also we like to spend a few minutes brushing them while they eat, and pick out their hooves. Dad's not big on grooming but he makes sure they're a good healthy weight.
Those few minutes at the end of the day brushing horses is very good for my mental health. I'd like to do that every evening.
And of course a minute to stand outside and do what my mom calls Surveying The Wondrous Works!
I think we need to figure out where the FOCUS button is on the camera. Either that or need to start wearing glasses full time. Or get the boy some. Geez.
Cindy, flip flops in March break!!! I think that was 1986, the year we were in shorts but there were no buds on the trees yet. I do think this is a little colder than we usually have it. Things should be melting more. Or maybe I'm just impatient...(I heard about your house!!!!!!)
Yankee, ya shoulda seen it a few years ago when we had 4 horses. It was a MOUNTAIN! And yeah...you know me well. I just can't shut up!
Indoors, yep, he knows how I love to fling it. I suspect he might leave that job til evening all the time but I like getting it over with. When I'm there I want to do all the work and give him a break but sometimes I still need his help. He's stronger than me and the barn's sort of set up for him, not my weak little self.
Well Biddie, do you think he'll catch up with his sister on photography skills?
Heidi, 1987 was the year of flip flops at March break. It was my 1st year back from NS, and it was heavenly. I think that the boy MIGHT catch up with the Girl. MAYBE. That kid is good at just about everything.
As for the boy...did I mention that he wants to learn how to weld this summer? But the girl's legs are longer. She'll be driving the tractor first, ha!!!
Reminds me of the scene in Jurrasic Park when Jeff Goldblum is standing beside the Triceratops load and he says, "That is one big pile of sh*t!"
I think that I prematurely speculated on your last post...but it seems obvious that Horses are a ton of work aren't they?
Unless of course you happen to live in France in which case you are accustomed to manges le cheval avec les pomme de terre et les pois vert.. I find that hard to fathom... man's second best friend... sorry I probably shouldn't be thinking out loud...but one of my horsey lovin' blogger pals from England was talking about this and I can't get it out of me 'ead!

Heidi, you keep posting beautiful pics like these on your blog and I'm going to start believing that the world is a good place again.
Yes, perfect. The world is a good place, and it's full of sh*t too!!! he he.
Less hatred, more hay, people.
Wow. Thanks for posting the pics of your day. I love this stuff because they are fascinating and I am incredibly nosey about other peoples lives :)
