(Excuse me for a second, I'm going to be insufferably Canadian and talk about the weather.)
I'm still irritated by the wind. It's been a mild winter but I'm still complaining, because what good does above-zero temperatures do when the wind blows all the hay away and damn near rips your coat off? I walk across the yard and the wind pushes my breath back in! I don't want to hear the term "wind chill" ever again!
Yes people. My life revolves around weather and horse manure.
And I promise I'll have something more funny, interesting, or cool for you SOON!
(in the meantime, feel free to share the misery and tell me what the weather problems are this time of year in your neck of the woods.)

Ok, I'm not bragging here, but the incredibly mild winter down here in LA (lower Alabama) only means more, much more, and meaner, bugs.
Yeah I hear that and figure I best stop bitching about the weather here. Bugs are a pain. And Ontario bugs are nothin in comparison.
I have LOTS of mud after two weeks of rain. I'm kind of sad, because we had a dry winter overall and I forgot how horrible the corrals CAN look. The only consolation is they dry out fast this time of year if we get some warm weather. Fingers crossed. (I like talking about weather, too, and I'm Californian, not Canadian!)
Laura, up here we think California is EXACTLY like in the movies, all the time, so it's nice to see what it's really like. Still looks pretty good to me!
Last year I couldn't ride in my corral until May. Putting down gravel and sand helped too but it was just a wet year.
Now I'm fretting that this year might be too dry. I'm never happy!!!!!
wind, dust, wind, dust, sinuses, nose bleeds, wind, dust...
Yeah, sounds about right. We got our faces sandblasted during yesterday's lesson.
I just spent my first winter at a barn with an INDOOR RING! the joy of riding all winter and having significantly less muddy slop is mind blowing. I am with you on the wind. Screw the temperature if the wind is that harsh!
