MY OL MAN AND KEEF RICHARDS HAVE THE SAME BIRTHDAY. ONE OF THEM LOOKS GREAT.

Please join me to wish my Ol Man a big Happy Birthday!

He's the guy who taught me purtymuch everything I know.

Like, how to drive, when I was twelve. How to stay on a pony, when I was five. How to primer a car, when I was fourteen. How to yank a motor. You know, the important stuff.

I learned a lot about clothes from him. Dress according to the weather. Wear long johns. Cover your ears. Never wear jeans that don't fit right. If it's hot out, cut the sleeves off. Wear a belt even if you don't need it. Only wear logos on your clothes for stuff you like...unless you're just going to wear it to mix bondo.

Never wear your barn boots to town.

Coveralls in cold weather, overalls in warm weather. Never scrap a car with a V8 until you take the motor out.

And other essentials...

That an old barn needs constant and regular fixing.

That plants need water.

(And that the "hoodie" is a very practical and yes, stylish, article of clothing.)

That sometimes you have to take a little break.

HE'S 65 TODAY!!!!!!

Happy birthday to my car fixin,

weed wackin,

parts chasin,

cowboy boots wearin,

super cool Dad!

Three cheers for the Hick Daddy!
Heidi, this is a cute tribute.
I'm lucky to have both my parents, too. (My dad's 83.)

On a side note, in the grocery store this evening I saw the first boxes of Valetines. I thought of you while picking up the Pirates of the Caribbean box. :)

  11. Great Tribute, Miss Hick. I have to call everyone and remind them when I have one. But Happy Birthday, Mr. Hick… (I can’t call him Chick like yours. It does rime, but it isn’t right. How ‘bout Hick Dick? That okay?) HBD, HD.

  13. Ah the elusive Hick Dad...

It's just my No Faces Rule! My folks are very private people and I have to respect that. Even these photos make me feel like I've shown too much of their lives.

But...the wallet on a chain! He rocks it like those mallpunks can't even imagine. I'm just sayin.
